Item description
Function: Incoming compressed air is separated into hot air flow and cold air flow by the VORTEX tube. The hot air emerges on one side of the tube, while the cold air is on the other side. The difference in temperatures between the incoming compressed air and the outgoing cold air can be set using the flow control valve. If the outlet temperature goes down, the volume of escaping cold air quantity reduces simultaneously. Temperatures from -40°C on the cold air side and up to +110°C on the hot air side are generated. If the air inlet temperature and the pressure remain constant, the outlet temperature can be set with a tolerance of ± 0.6 K.
Operating pressure: 1 to 10 bar, optimum: 5 bar (filtered, unoiled compressed air)
Application examples: •precise temperature control, •exact matching of the VORTEX tube to each requirement using the easily changed VORTEX generators included in delivery, •cooling of solder points, hot glue or adhesives, •cooling of spot welds, prevents discolouring and deformation, •cooling of liquid chocolate in food processing plants, •cooling of cold forms and ultrasonic tools, •cooling during machine cutting without the use of coolants (e.g. for plastics), •cooling needles in sewing machines, •cooling cutting tools, •thermal testing electronic components, •shrink fittings
Advantages: •low purchase and operating costs, •maintenance free, •no moving parts - no wearing, •for operation only compressed air is needed, no electricity, •no residue on the cooled objects through coolant or refrigerant spray
All data are to be understood as non-binding reference values! We do not assume liability for any data selection not confirmed in writing. Unless otherwise specified, pressure values refer to liquids from Group II at +20°C.
